Toyota will launch its first GR Sport model in Australia when the C-HR GR Sport goes on sale in late November.
The introduction of the C-HR GR Sport comes off the back of huge demand for the GR Yaris and will help Toyota deliver on its promise of offering customers a growing range of exciting, stylish performance cars under the banner of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales and Marketing Sean Hanley said the launch of the C-HR GR Sport demonstrated Toyota’s commitment to expanding the availability of GR inspired cars and delivering the driving thrills and style demanded by enthusiast customers.
“When we launched our GR performance brand last year with the GR Supra, Toyota hadn’t had a serious high-performance sports car in its lineup for 17 years, but together with the new GR Yaris that arrives next month, we are well and truly back on the performance track,” Mr Hanley said.
“Now with the imminent arrival of the first GR Sport model, we are extending the GR feeling to customers who may not want a high performance race-bred sports car, but still desire a car with sporty styling and a degree of performance modifications to set it apart from the standard Toyota lineup.
“The new C-HR GR Sport is exactly that, offering customers greater driving enjoyment and bold purposeful styling that deliver the exhilarating feeling at the heart of all GR products.
“And just like the dedicated GR sports cars, the performance-enhanced GR Sport models like the new C-HR GR Sport, are inspired by the lessons and technology derived from Toyota’s championship-winning motorsports program,” he said.
Based on the C-HR GXL Hybrid 2WD, the new C-HR GR Sport features a range of body enhancements including a more aggressive front end with a unique front bumper, grille and headlights.
Big 19-inch alloys shod with low profile tyres further enhance the sports aesthetic while inside, the GR Sport model features bespoke trim highlights and sports seats.
Keeping true to the GR brand, the C-HR GR Sport is not just about looks with an uprated suspension tuned for sporty driving.
The C-HR GR Sport will be available in a range of eight colours1 including three two-tone colourways that match Crystal Pearl, Hornet Yellow or Feverish Red with a black roof.
1 Toyota Australia reserves the right to vary or discontinue the current interior and exterior colours, trims and colour/trim/model combinations.
